  • The Epson 11880 Printer: Here we go again.  By : nfriend21
In response to the recent introduction of powerful 60" wide format inkjet printers from Canon and Hewlett-Packard, Epson has just introduced a 64" model, the Epson professional 11880 inkjet inkjet giclee printer. The giclee printer market has become so dramatically aggressive that Wide Format Printer Developers are innovating new printer technology bi-annually. The Epson 11880 Wide Format Printer is the 1st time ever Epson has just released a printer more extensive than theirtremendously successful 44" size, as perceived on the Epson 9800 Wide Format Printer, Epson 9600, Epson 10000 Wide Format Printer, and Epson 10600 Wide Format Printer. This is an big benefit to assembly-oriented facilities who favor the value and track record of the Epson logo, but urgently demand the extra width. Given that Canon and HP printers are only 60" wide, the Epson Stylus Pro 11880 offers an extra four inches in width which could prove to be a deciding issue in buyer decision making. The logic is that if one can choose between two relatively similar printers at the same price tag why not devote this large sum of money into a printer that gives larger ability
  • All about how to use you digital camera  By : David Peters
The camera has one small, slow chip and very little memory to do that interpolation. Your computer has a big, powerful processor and lots of memory, not to mention, no particular need to compromise their software routines to fit into a small amount of memory or trade quality for speed to avoid long delays after taking a picture. In short, your computer will do a vastly better job at interpolating the picture than your camera will, and to top that off you can choose different algorithms (often named after the mathematicians or programmers who created them, like Lanczos or Mitchell) and experiment with how well they work on a particular image. You can even save different versions of the file, including the original, which you can't if the camera is doing the work. There's nothing to be gained by compromising image quality, which is exactly what you're doing if you don't use the best filter you can get your hands on. The interpolated image even takes up more space on your camera's memory card, but it doesn't hold any more information than the original. Finally, as I mentioned above, it adds time between shots, as the camera has to grind away at reshaping your picture before you can take another one.

Photography is also just plain fun, and it's a wonderful foundation for community-based projects. If you introduce photography properly, it helps you look much more carefully at the world around you.
  • Digital Photography: all its many secrets  By : David Peters
Though digital photography has come a long way, beginning photographers must still maintain control of the shots they intend to take. For example, focusing and clarity can be sensed automatically by most digital cameras, but that doesn't necessarily make the picture a good one. Therefore, choosing the right camera, one which allows you to control intensity, contrast and lighting, is not a choice to make sparingly. Most often, people review cameras and pick their own personal favorite, and while the advice may be helpful to others, it is not necessarily for everyone. First, your needs must determine the type of camera you will buy. Do you prefer to have a smaller camera that can be carried around in your pocket, or would you rather a full-size camera which is carried in a bag? The choice is up to the buyer, and should be thought about carefully before making a decision.
