Storytelling and professional speaker

Peoples mind is something that can remember anything for the entire life or something that they can just forget within a minute. People can generally remember the things he or she likes mostly than any other creation of the planet. For example, when someone says “I love you” for the first time in life, she / he never forget this. And something without interest gets lost before the next time the eye blinks! As a professional speaker you need to know this kind of facts and a lot about human philosophy.

What is the best way to make people memorize? Professional speakers face difficult job when it comes to make people memorize things. It would be done by making the topic interesting or by talking about something they really like. And the best way to make the topic interesting would be like illustrating the topic by using story. It is one of the best ways to make people understand, memorize and make audience pay attention in the speech.

Things about the story telling also require some skills. It is not like what grandmother told you at night before sleeping, because than your audience will go on sleeping while you are speaking! This is not acceptable from a professional speaker. What people expect from you is art. To be precise, they expect the speech from you in the from of a story.

You have to remember that the story you are about to use to say in front of audience must be relevant to the topic. Which means the story must narrate the topic. There is always a story that can match the topic; you just need to find that out. The story will bring attention rather than bookish definitions. Therefore, you should select the story on basis of the audience. For instance, consider audience’s age and life style. The new generation stories cannot be told with the audience with old taste.

The professional speaker must give the audience a chance to relax once a while. Why not just entertain them a little? Tell a small story to relax and get them prepared for the next topic. Try to tell them the mistakes or errors you have done. It will make them feel good about themselves. Also be certain to make the stories short so that it does not kill the time of your speech.

In story telling, the professional speaker must keep in mind that what kind of people he / she is talking to and what do they find interesting. Also, mention names and places in the story so that it can seem real. If the audience do not recognizes the names of the place or someone than the story loses interest.

The climax of the story must be kept for excitement. The professional speaker should keep the climax till the end of the speech. The story and its probable climax will keep the audience alerted all the time. They will wait for the ending part of the story and will not leave the hall until the speech is over! Is not that you want?

I wish you success in becoming a professional speaker by mastering the skill of storytelling.
