So it is highly recommended to buy a new fragrance by trying it on your skin before going for a purchase. The ideal way to purchase a perfume is by spraying it on the inside of the wrist and allowing it to develop for minimum five minutes. This will help you in deciding whether you liked the perfume or you have to go for another choice.
The perfume fragrance choice changes according to seasons. So preferably you have to go for a different perfume during summers and winters. In fact it is recommended to have distinct fragrances for all the four seasons. Test various fragrances before arriving at a decision so that it suits you right. How much you are supposed to apply is determined only by the type of fragrance you have selected. It is usually noted that people tend to overpower others by their perfume fragrance. This is common among elders as they try to gain attention in various ways, and one among various ways is applying perfume strongly.
Fragrance of any perfume is expected to last for 3-4 hours, so do not apply once you realize the smell. It is best to apply twice, in the morning and in the evening. But, in case you take a shower, you can apply the fragrance fresh as no fragrance lasts eternally. Any perfume has a lifespan of 3 year from the manufacturing date. So while purchasing a perfume check on the manufacturing and buy it from genuine department stores. Proper storage is also essential to lengthen the fragrance life of your perfume. It is best when stored in an appropriate dark and dry place than your dressing table. Perfumes react in high temperatures.
Eau de colognes and toilettes can be well preserved in a Refrigerator as they cannot be exposed to increased temperatures. But, perfumes are best in a dark dry box.
